Four tables on blue cloth, set apart from the Heyball room. Bigger pockets, a shorter table, a frame in ten minutes instead of forty, and a game two people can pick up having never held a cue.
The size of it
Our pool tables are eight-footers, with a bed of about 2235 mm. The Heyball tables in the next room have 3569 mm. Drawn at the same scale, that is the entire difference between the two games. Everything else follows from it.
Shorter distances forgive an imperfect strike. Square-jawed pockets take a ball that arrives at an angle Heyball’s rounded jaws would spit back out. This is why pool is the right first table and Heyball is the one to graduate to.
